Bye Bye UPM... yowning (:|

Did you expected to see emotional tears? The ones who knows me probably will smile ironically... except some knowledge which will help my future career the university didn't brought me high satisfactions. I had high expectations when I started it but slowly, the reality convinced me that I need just a diploma, the official certification that proves that I graduated something and that's it. No one is asking you at an job interview what have you done in school, everibody wants to see potential for the job description and after that they are forming you for the post. That's why I tried to develop as many abilities as possible... nowadays you have to want and dare to be as better as possible with a huge self confidence.

Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta... Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta...

....bla bla bla...

1.10.2001 Official opening of University year. I remember two things from that day: first one is that my old friend Doru, my neighbor from the 6th floor and my future colleague had so many emotions about that, he was waiting for that day a long time... Me? For me it was just a regular day. I decided to go more or less because of my curiosity; The second thing is the dean's speech who assured the "Mecatronica" students will have all the conditions, plus a new laboratory to study this new discipline and they will have 3 time more opportunities than the others. These word made have high expectations...

First year:
I thought that it would not be bad to be assistant in an computer laboratory, 'cause I graduated informatics at high school, I was good at computers and I wanted to learn new things about computer networks. A teacher asked us if there are volunteers for a position like that and two of us offered... working in the newest laboratory in University sounds really great :) I decided to retreat and leave my group mate to fil this position, 'cause he was foreigner and he needed that more than me, to make a personal network in university and our city, a job like that would put him in contact with lots of people. I spoke with another teacher and I was responsible for another laboratory several weeks later.

Second year:
I tried to learn on my own some things about mechatronics, so together with other 3 students we formed a mecatronics club. We asked for an space in University and it was approved, so we installed some PCs and started to play with some special programming languages (Euphoria), we built some phototrophic robots, we studied something about biomimetics, we had our on site summer practice in the laboratory, under the dean's approval. After noticing that what we can do with the tools we had there it was not exactly what we dreamed about ( a 6 free degrees robot e expensive, can be more then 50000 euros) so we reoriented to something else, all 4 of us. I decided to participate in an work and travel in USA program for the next summer... to see something else... I was hungry for knowledge. Unfortunately, exactly in that period, the war in Iraq started and the visas were blocked for one month. The employer founded someone else and I lost because of that 500 USD and had to stay at home in the summer because of that. At least I tried...

Third, Fourth and Fifth Years:
I discovered something even more interesting, something I didn't thought until then. From an accident I joined AIESEC. I will not say here all the things I learned in these 3 years of volunteering, but what is certain is that I founded more things about me, some abilities that I didn't knew that I had and that can make me happy in my life. I preferred to invest all my time and money in AIESEC, I knew that what I will learn there will help me on long term. As you can imagine, the time spent in AIESEC was growing and growing and the time spent at school was less and less, from my 13 exams which I didn't passed in my final year, seven were planed to be like that :) I knew from 2005 that I will have my license exam in 2007, one year after graduation. Also in my last year of University, I worked 6 months on e-marketing, realizing that I am feeling much better when I am doing something I know to handle and something I like to do it.

22.06.2007 License exam. I finished finally the exams, in a very lazy atmosphere, maybe because of the exceeding heat (44-45 degrees). I never was so... bored at an exam... ever. Maybe I changed a little bit in the last year and I will not have stress for almost anything. Anyway... I wait to receive the certification and to go further on on my way.

THE END.

Romania, 1 iunie 2007 - F5

I waited a while to have time to evaluate my country situation at this moment. I didn't succeeded :) The situation is very different from place to place.

I attract my attention some stories on several Romanian news channels, transmitted very exciting by the reporters: it looks like in Bucharest in Universitatii Square it is FREE WIRELES INTERNET!!! WAU!!! :) The companies which distribute internet there will cover their expenses from publicity, actually will have a nice profit. Is estimated that in 2-3 years all the important points in Bucharest will have wireless signal. The same in the big towns in Transylvania.

My comments:
OK, for some people incredible news, but for me it was funny to see that as latest news. I returned from an environment where the wireless routers are everywhere, even in the park near the jail...

When I saw the news I just remember how some Romanians who had the first time a mobile phone. Probably some of you have memories with some guys speaking loud at the phone, so everybody should see that they have one: "HELLO! YEEES! I AM IN THE BUS! YEEES! SURE! HAHAHA! OK! GIVE ME A SHORT CALL AND I'LL CALL YOU BACK! BYE!" ... applied personal branding. It's good to be cool, huh? I am waiting to see laptop-ers going in the center to search the web just for the sake of being seen by others... it's in our nature.
