Spain+North Africa trip - the plan

We were in the mood for visits and Africa being very close it was a big temptation for us. After we were informed from friends and using internet we decided that it would be a nice experience to visit a country in North Africa, to see another culture and also to see some of the Portuguese roots (the moors).

Here is what we though that would be interested to be visited: to visit Morocco or Algeria for one week. After having all information putted together, Diana and I chose Morocco, because it was closer, safer and with loads of touristic objectives.

The route : We couldn't find acceptable flights to Morocco only from Spain, from Madrid and Barcelona. Then we decided that we can fly to Madrid (and we stay 2 days there as well), we will fly from Madrid to Marrakech, and from there we will take the bus or train to Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Tanger, we cross the Gibraltar with the ferryboat, and we will take buses to go to Sevilla, Algarve (south of Portugal) and we return to Lisbon.

Of course, we prepared, with maps printed from "Google maps", information on "Wikipedia" for potential touristic sites. For a month we had an Armenian flatmate, Vaspurakan, who lived 4 years in Spain (Cadiz and Madrid) so he gave us lots of information about Spain. :)
