Peniche, Berlenga Island

We have visited Peniche, a place very visited by tourists, especially English and French. They like Portugal because they feel very well in good conditions and also at half price compared with their countries.

Diana likes pigeons and birds in general...

We found here lots, almost like pets. They are not scared to eat from the hand :)

We visited the old fort, which is now transformed into a museum. There are lots of animals made from materials like metals, nails, wires, etc...

The old cells where ex-dictator Salazar kept his "clients"

Not far away from Peniche is Berlenga Island, at only half an hour with the boat. If we didn't managed to go in Azores, at least to go on Berlenga, which is closer and easier to be reached. Diana heard about the island from a colleague of her which is from 20 km from Peniche in the famous Bombarral village :) Not too many Portuguese know about this island and not too many visited it.

For the first time I get out from Europe :)

The island is not very big, it takes a half an hour to cross it.

João Baptista fort, an ex prison on the island, today a hotel and restaurant :)

Bye! Bye! Barlenga... after the sun burned us on the face, we checked another nice experience.
