Romanian Mass Media... disgusting!
I watch carefully the elections for President in Romania 2009.
Normally the media should be fair, but in Romania several media tycoons united to sabotage actual President, reformer Traian Basescu. I could see that every day on several the Romanian private news TV stations and newspapers, all the news are presented to suggest that the actual President is bad and evil and Mr Geoana is positive, good and he will save us from the crisis. The media tycoons Sorin-Ovidiu Vantu, Dan Voiculescu and Dinu Patriciu are Romanian entrepreneurs, ex-members of "Securitate", all with charges for corruption, they were getting rich under PSD governments and they are ready to do anything to get away with their charges.
When 80% from the media tries to brainwash a whole country... that's something unbelievable!
And now, even the Romanian National Television TVR, which is managed from public fonds by Mr Alexandru Sassu, a PSD member (ex communists) is playing so visible for Mr Geoana (he is mentioned for all his actions in a posivive way, he is presented near the head of the Romanian Orthodox Church, at football matches where the Romanian Team is winning the journalists are forced to mention him, there are TV shows interrupted to show his meetings...) and Mr Basescu, the reformer, is ignored when he has positives actions and is very present with negative stories, mostly personal things.
An example of manipulation was in organizing the first debate for elections when TVR broke the agreement with the parties and changed the format of the show, inviting 2 very vocal competitors who would play 100% against the actual president.
Another one is presenting a fake video when the president is shown hitting a 10 year kid. For 2 days they showed that movies and now, when it was proven by so many people that it's an ordinary fake tape, nobody admits that on TV. They are doing that hoping that the people will not find in time about it...

Another example is presenting the events at Timisoara on 1st of December, different than reality. There were 2 people fighting and one officer used a spray can to separate them and on the news it was: "Violences at Timisoara! A very aggressive group of 200 people from PDL (Traian Basescu's side) broke the meeting and police was forced to use gases to calm them down!"
And it wasn't a PDL group according to the witnesses, they were mostly the people gathered in city center for the National Day and being revolted because Mr Geoana is using this special day for his elections campaign. Timisoara is the simbol of our freedom, in that city the revolts again the communists started in 1989!

I remembered how in december 1989 we listen "Europa Libera" radio to find out what is really happening in the country, since all the media was monopolized. Now it's something similar, we read the few media channels which are not corrupted by the media tycoons like www.hotnews.ro
These being the facts, I have left no choice than sustain again the imperfect president we still have, which is by the way backed up by PPE.

If he will not be re-elected... I'm afraid I can't see a reason why I should return for good in my country. I prefer to stay in a normal one...
