Role modeling... apparently!

We moved to a place in city center, a 2 bedroom flat, shared with a 21 young man.

It's better this way for me, it will take only 20 minutes to go at the office... 40 minutes/day, much better than the 130 minutes spent until then.

The flat was in a bad condition, but we saw quickly the potential in it. To have an view about how was looking before we came in, just try to imagine a cave! I mean... they needed even a new toilet seat...

The young lad was very happy seeing his dirty cave transformed into a nice, decent place to live and started to copy some of our actions, like washing dishes, cleaning, etc.

He is our flatmate!

He started to buy the same things we bought, same brands, same products. Apparently, this was good, it's good to see that others are taking you as a model, right?

Take a look at these:

Our

His

Our

His

Our

His

Ours

His

Ours

His

His

And there are more...

But... there is a "but"!

It looks like roll modeling has its disadvantages as well...

In the same time, something else start to happen: mysterious disappearances from our stuff... our things are consuming much faster! And his are staying about the same for a longer time!

So this guy bought all that products and he is using ours, thinking that we will not notice, or if we notice he can say it was a mistake.

Maybe he thinks he's very smart and we are stupid... it's so interesting to see how far a mind like his will go, because there are several things he did and they are not moral. For me he is just a study case:

1. How far can he go with this? ... smiling to you in the same time :)
2. Why? What is the reason for his "actions"? Economy?

I hope I will find out! I want to know what's his algorithm! I want to know how our Scottish neighbor thinks! Is this for real? The jokes with Scottish people are true? Are they really so tight/cheap? He is confirming until now...

It looks like he already has a roll model... and it's not me!

His role model is Robinhood !!!

You should just tell him upfront what you think, don't get frustrated. I've been in a similar situation and what I've learnt is that you should just tell him...that's all.

See you!

I know Dragos... :) we told him several times not to use our stuff, but the little problem here if we would told him in a hard way, we will have to find another flat because this one it's his father's... and anyway we don't want to stay in this city too much time. This is the 3rd place where I stayed here, I don't want to move again, it's too much time invested and it's hard to find something here without non-European culture... so I prefer to invest my time searching other opportunities or working at my website
